I'm Mayor Geoff Ellsworth from St. Helena. I will talk in a moment about my reelection campaign.

We are still in fire season, for best emergency preparedness always have a go-bag packed with essentials to leave on short notice if necessary.
In my 3-1/2 years on the St. Helena City Council and first term as mayor, I have advocated for a balanced and holistic approach to protecting the health, safety and quality of life of those who live and work here. At the same time, I have encouraged reasonable development and infrastructure upgrades that respect our small-town community lifestyle, water security and climate/environmental concerns. My approach to governance is inclusive and comprehensive, fostering a full-spectrum community that respects cultural diversity and community engagement. I believe that everyone should be treated fairly and justly, and be given equitable opportunities. These values can thrive with healthy governance goals that combine strong financial oversight and diverse revenue streams with long-term environmental resilience and preservation.
In my term as mayor we have faced many challenging emergency circumstances, such as wildfires, PSPS power shutoffs and COVID-19. While dealing with these unexpected and difficult events, we were still able to move forward on numerous legacy projects, including passing the General Plan, beginning removal of the York Creek Dam, environmental work on the wastewater treatment plant, planning work for the downtown streetscape/sidewalk project, saving substantial legal costs, making progress on affordable housing strategies, updating zoning codes, installing downtown restrooms and bottle-filling stations and completing park upgrades. We have also moved forward with Napa Valley College on facilities partnership.
I support the best ideas and practices wherever they come from, working collaboratively and cross-jurisdictionally toward sustainable local and regional solutions that consider costs as well as benefits. I endeavor to share both efforts and successes, using a team approach to work through challenges while providing stable, calm and proactive leadership to move forward effectively in solving issues affecting our city and community.

This is St. Helena Mayor Geoff Ellsworth. Our community continues to find itself in challenging situations, but as always, we are strong, proactive and adaptable.
The current situation with COVID-19, nearby fires, as well as heat and air quality issues persist. Sadly there has been loss of life and tremendous damage in the region.
But our will, our community spirit, our generosity and our can-do attitude will see us through together.
With nearby evacuations and continuing fire risk it is important to remain calm, focused and on alert. The fact that a portion of St. Helena east of Silverado Trail is under evacuation reminds us all to have a ready-to-go bag packed with essentials and medicines, and to be ready to leave on very short notice if asked.
Whatever the circumstance, because of COVID-19 it will also be important to continue the Covid protocol of the three W's - Wash your hands, Wear a Mask or Face Covering and watch your distance - keeping 6 feet of social, physical distancing.
While our community continues to be tested, this town is remarkably resilient.
Let's all continue working together to be safe.

With the Fourth of July holiday weekend coming up, it is important that you continue to protect yourself, your family, and our community from COVID-19. Normally, we get together to celebrate with family and friends. However, this year is different.
As we celebrate our Independence, it is also important to remember our Inter-Dependence — we are all linked by the air we share and the health of our community is a shared responsibility. Our collective actions will help keep businesses open and our case numbers low.
COVID-19 is still present in the community; the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19 still exists. It is important to take the proper precautions to ensure that we can avoid another economic shut down, the loss of jobs, and additional family hardships.
Important steps you can take to prevent the spread of COVID-19
-- Wash or sanitize your hands regularly and avoid touching your face;
-- Wear a face covering. Face coverings are now required when inside any public place or business, and outside when 6 feet of distance between households cannot be maintained.
-- Watch your distance. Keep 6 feet apart. Avoid gatherings and parties with people from outside your household. This is critically important, as many recent positive COVID cases in Napa County are a result of families and friends gathering amongst households.
