Continue to make upgrades to urban infrastructure, streetscapes and parks
Foster the expansion of community garden projects to promote health, recreation and food security
Respond to community emergencies (fire, drought and Covid-19, to name a few) with determination, flexibility, resilience and humaneness
Continue fostering arts, culture, community celebrations and events
Encourage economic vitality and balanced growth with sustainable practices grounded in the long-term needs and priorities of St. Helena residents
Maintain strong fiscal and administrative oversight, prioritizing solutions that will benefit our community’s long-term well-being, economic investment and quality of life
Engage residents in transparent discussions about current plans and possibilities for expanding and maintaining economic stability
Consider the most efficient/fiscally responsible next steps in rebuilding City Hall, including further consideration of rebuilding at the Main Street/Lyman Park location and exploring a possible partnership with Napa Valley College for interim or long-term leasing opportunities
Retain city assets while exploring leasing opportunities for city-owned property for affordable housing and city/business collaborations
Promote and support existing local businesses and nonprofits
Cultivate diverse economic models by encouraging new, innovative businesses and employment opportunities
Balance hospitality development in proportion to our small-town character, and consider measured, sustainable and thoughtful planning that incorporates housing needs and respects our 2030 climate goals
Continue working with the California League of Cities for objective financial diagnostic tools and administrative support
Collaborate with other local, regional and state government entities to provide integrated problem solving and best practices
Protect and preserve our water, open space and natural resources through environmental stewardship
Support strong climate goals and actions that will benefit our community now and into the future
Remain committed to the 2030 Climate Drawdown Goals in the 2019 St. Helena and Napa County Climate Proclamations
Encourage green building codes and clean energy practices
Plan for the long-term availability of potable drinking water and safe groundwater
Enhance methods for assuring a reliable water supply, equitable water distribution and equitable rate-sharing/cost-sharing for residential, commercial and agricultural users
Gain additional walking and biking paths and trails, both in St. Helena and the surrounding areas
Balance the need for economic growth with programs that sustain open space and watershed lands and forests
Engage with Napa County and other government decision makers to recognize and mitigate cumulative impacts from development projects outside the city limits, including intensification of water use, increased traffic and affordable housing needs
